In June 2007, MSF Switzerland launched a research project on the perception of humanitarian action in general and of MSF Switzerland in particular, in a set of contexts in which the organization operates. Ten countries were studied: Niger, Cameroon, Liberia, Kenya, Uganda, Palestine, Iraq, Jordan, Guatemala and Kyrgyzstan. The study aimed to understand how all actors involved in emergency or medium term medical projects (national and expatriate teams, patients, the population, other local and international NGOs, UN agencies, as well as political, health and religious authorities, etc.) perceive the project and the organization that implements it. As MSF, a "dunantist" organization, promotes humanitarian action based on the principles of independence, neutrality and impartiality, several questions also focused on the latter.
